We have discussed the new Lock-screen notification system before in Windows Phone 8—in short, users can add up to five apps, including 3rd party ones who are coded properly, to the Lock Screen for quick updates on their most important services. The left is the notification of Twitter and the right is the notification of Facebook
This is not surprising as Twitter and Facebook appear on the screen lockscreen. After two popular social network has been integrated into Windows Phone in a long time, the expansion of the message on the lockscreen is highly anticipated.
A community news for WP
The latest beta version of Skype for Windows (5.11) allows login with Microsoft or Facebook account. With this update Skype is further embracing the services of its parent company, which allows users to log in using the Microsoft account and chat with anyone using Messenger on Windows, Xbox 360 or from within Hotmail / Outlook.com.Along with that, now can use Facebook account to log in Skype. The main benefit of this upgrade is the ability to combine the contacts list, although Microsoft has warned users that this feature is still incomplete and they appreciate feedback from the community.
And Skype is continuing to evolve its oft-criticized visual design, promising that this beta brings a simpler and, more importantly, "less cluttered" interface. Support for six new languages has also made its way to the latest test build, which can be downloaded from Skype's Garage blog below.
Update: The Mac beta is now available for download.
