The first birthday of Nokia N8 is getting closer and people are now getting excited on what will its successor bring. Plus with the announcement of Symbian Belle and new smartphones, Nokia 701, 700 and 600, it just maked the talks hotter.
Few top questions are on the rise and that is the operating system of choice whether it would run on Mango or Symbian Belle or even with MeeGo. Another big conversation is on camera if it will bring a lot of new features. Also another one is the name, as Nokia already changed their naming convention, we expect it would be named on Nokia 800s series. But sadly, we can’t just conclude with these talks until we’ve seen it and hear it right from Nokia.
For now, let’s just have our own conversations here regarding this N8′s successor. Tell us on what you’re thoughts on the N8′s successor.
My own speculations is that, Nokia might announce Nokia 800 with Symbian Belle and with these 16+ MP Carl Zeiss camera, 4.0″ screen, and more. And maybe Nokia would announce Nokia 801 next year now with Mango and with same killer specs as Nokia 800…all just my thought though.

Well there it is, the rumored Nokia 703 Windows Phone from a couple days ago. I really like the design of it, at 3.7" it is a slightly smaller version of the Sea Ray/N9.

This is pretty much what I reported spec wise a two days ago, expect for the camera...The camera only being a 5Mp is a huge disappointment for me. I truly was expecting an 8Mp like on the C7, and 701. While there is nothing mentioned on the processor speed one would have to assume that it is the 1Ghz processor that is in the 701.
So there it is the first Nokia Windows Phone. (maybe) What do you all think?
CameraPro processes images in background, so you can capture more images directly after taking a picture. But CameraPro provides 100% quality (=raw jpeg) by default which results in up to 5 times larger image sizes (like 10 MB instead of 2 MB). Thus sometimes CameraPro can be a little bit slower than the built in camera when taking pictures with 100% quality.
Does CameraPro hack or alter the camera firmware in any way? No, CameraPro is a stand-alone application which provides the same, or even better, quality and features as some hacks (e.g. HyperX) available but without altering the camera firmware nor the built-in camera app settings.
How can I take pictures in 16:9 format? When you are in photo mode, please goto "Settings" and change the image size to e.g. "4000x2248".
How can I record videos? To switch to video mode goto the "Camera Mode" menu item and select "Video mode". Video recording is started with the same buttons as used for image capturing.

If you had pressed the app icon accidentally you have 4 seconds to cancel the reboot by pressing the only button on the screen.
Often you need to reboot your smartphone. You can make this only by shutting it down and power on it after that. But it is not very handy. You have to press the Power button first time, and then wait until the screen will go out. Then you have to press the Power button one more time to turn your phone on. If you have the pin-code request for your SIM-card enabled you have to enter it. If you forget it the phone will be not able to receive calls. And persons who will call you will receive the Busy signal.

After few days of having the Nokia 701, it came up to my mind that I should do a comparison with Nokia C7-00 due to their similarities in design and other features.
So below, I shot a short video comparison of Nokia 701 running on Symbian Belle and Nokia C7-00 running on Symbian Anna. I also highlighted their differences in video and put Nokia X7 and N8 on the last part of the video for a little treat to you.
Differences:
Symbian Belle is the on-board Symbian^3 release on 701 while Nokia C7 has the Symbian Anna. Update to Belle is Q4 this year.

Here is a video from blog.gsmarena that shows off exactly how impressive Symbian Belle is combined with a 1Ghz processor and 512MB of RAM. I mean this thing is snappy with no lag at all. Sadly this phone will probably never see the light of day here in the US and I will have to wait for the Windows Phone version, the 703.
So the folks over at wpcentral have found this little nugget of information, that Nokia will be releasing the Nokia 703 as a Windows Phone.....
One would have to assume that the 703 is the just like the 701 but running the Window Phone OS instead of Symbian Belle. The 701 already hits almost all the requirements for running Windows Phone.
Perhaps the one diffrence will be screen size..I can't find it now, but I know I have seen that one of the requirements for a Windows Phone is a 3.7 inch screen and the 701's screen is only 3.5 inches. This also would explain the slight bump up in the number to 703.
As one of the luckiest bloggers that WOMWorld brought in Hong Kong last week, Nokia showered us with a treat of bringing the newest Nokia smartphones to try out for couple of weeks so I chose the Nokia 701 to try whilst my other friends went to Nokia 700 and 600. Nokia 700 has the brightest screen with 3.5″ IPS display with CBD technology, 1Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 8MP camera and running on Symbian Belle.
During we’re in HK we have had the opportunity to use these devices and my Nokia 701 was my primary cameraphone as we tour the majestic places there. So below are the few still and video shots I’ve captured with 701′s 8MP snapper. Although it’s on Full Focus and it can’t do some close up shots still the device performed well as a cameraphone both in video and still.
